RUN WILD

Have you ever experienced Moses moments? Those times when God asks something of you, but you have every excuse under the sun not to do it. I’m raising my hand high on that one. I've wiggled my way out of so many opportunities because I'm too insecure, afraid of rejection, worried about what others will think, unsure of myself or apprehensive of the fallout. I question myself based on other's judgements of me, what if I'm being too honest, too passionate, too real, too intense or too emotional?
The Lord's like, "You mean being yourself? Being the way I made you to be?"
"Um, Lord, you do realize I've been criticized, put down and rejected for my “muchness," right?!"
"Hmm... I'd say you're in pretty good company then. It's time to get out of bed with other’s opinions and run wild in the fields with me. It'll be an adventure you'll never regret."
"That sounds inviting, but... I don't know how to share the heavy, messy, ugly parts without putting a bad light on others. I don't want to expose them, but I do want to share how I'm journeying through the pain of it all to be a help and comfort to others. I just don't know how to do that."
"Do you think I'm capable of leading you and helping you know what to say? Can you trust me to do that?"
Gulp. "Of course, Lord!"
What are you afraid of? Not doing it perfectly? Making a big mistake that everyone will see that might enforce your own struggles with the lies you've believed for so long? Are you afraid of humiliation or embarrassment?
"Um, as a matter of fact, yes, Lord, I am."
"Consider another perspective... what if it's not about telling your story, but instead telling my story of your life through your writing? You're the pen, I'm the ink. Maybe it's not about fixing the fear or avoiding the criticism, but pressing on in spite of it. Maybe it's about giving hope to someone else who's been locked in the same prison cell as you?
"Perhaps when you take the risk of getting hurt, broken, humiliated, embarrassed or crushed, it will open a window for other's to see me and find healing."
Consider what the world knows of David and the comfort received from his life. What if the hardships I've brought you through holds the key to unlocking someone else's prison cell? What if they're passing through the same rugged terrain and you're hiding the keys behind an iron gate of fear, not realizing you're keeping them lost in darkness? Can you live with that?"
Actually, no, I can't. Lord. I'd much rather face Pharaoh than leave my brother or sister in Egypt. Give me wisdom, Lord, and make me brave.
"Write from the core of who you are. Don't fear the Pharaoh’s in your life. Trust me and I'll do the rest."
"I like your deals, Lord, and I think I'm getting the better end of the bargain!"

Can you see your Moses Moments?
What excuses are you making?
Where can you take a risk and run wild with Him?

All I can say is wow! I saw love and compassion and I smiled. Living with bipolar all of my Adult life there are times when I wanted to hide and just keep to myself. But I have this thing keeping this to myself. I was always afraid of what people would say, how would they look at me? It took long years of trusting not only myself but others. Still not many of my friends know I'm bipolar or at least I don't think so.
This was a refreshing read. Giving me something to think about truly. I do have my conversations with God and have learned of all the beauty around me. Sometimes its a step forward, sometim…
